林先生は大阪の豊中にて木地作りから上塗りまで塗の多くの工程をお一人で一貫して制作されています。
様々な木の持つ特性を活かし、用途に合った形が生まれます。
多様な漆の器に加えて、カトラリーや漆アクセサリーなどの日々の暮らしを彩る作品をご出展いただきます。

Genta Hayashi is a singular master who undertakes all phases of his lacquerware production—from shaping the wood to the final topcoat—entirely by himself at his studio in Toyonaka, Osaka. He harnesses the unique properties of various types of wood to create forms that are perfectly suited to their intended function. For this exhibition, he will be presenting a wide array of works, including diverse lacquer bowls and plates, as well as pieces that enhance daily life, such as cutlery and lacquer accessories.
